MSME registration - Advantages


Various Governments especially Government of India is providing lot of incentives to MSME sectors. This includes the latest Union budget 2019 proposal of 2% interest subvention to MSME. It is advisable to get registered as MSME under the provisions of MSME Act 2006 to avail such benefits.

MSME registration can be obtained by obtaining  Udyog Aadhar with a simple login process at the portal https://udyogaadhaar.gov.in.  Once the registration is complete, a Udyog Aadhar Memorandum (UAM) number is provided with will also be the MSME registration number.

Basic prerequeistes for UAM 

1. Aadhar number for the entrepeneur.

2. The Aadhar number should be linked with mobile number.

If Aadhar number is not enrolled:

An applicant or the authorised signatory who is not yet enrolled for Aadhaar shall have to apply for Aadhaar enrolment and in case he or she is entitled to obtain Aadhaar as per section 3 of the Aadhaar Act such individual may visit any Aadhaar enrolment centre to get enrolled for Aadhaar.

Provided that till the time Aadhaar is assigned to the individual, UAM registration shall be filed by the concerned DIC (District Industrial center) or MSME-DI (on behalf of such enterprise, on production of the following documents as alternative and viable means of identification. 
(a) (i) If he has enrolled, his Aadhaar Enrolment ID slip; or 
  (ii) A copy of his request made for Aadhaar enrolment, 
(b) Any of the following documents, namely:- 
  Bank photo passbook; or voter ID Card; or passport; or driving license; or PAN card; or employee photo identity card issued by the Government.

The eligibility is limited to Manufacturing and Service Sector. And the eligibility criteria as follows.

Manufacturing Sector

Enterprises

Investment in plant & machinery

Micro Enterprises

Does not exceed twenty five lakh rupees

Small Enterprises

More than twenty five lakh rupees but does not exceed five crore rupees

Medium Enterprises

More than five crore rupees but does not exceed ten crore rupees

Service Sector

Enterprises

Investment in equipments

Micro Enterprises

Does not exceed ten lakh rupees:

Small Enterprises

More than ten lakh rupees but does not exceed two crore rupees

Medium Enterprises

More than two crore rupees but does not exceed five crore rupees
